I had the best time ever. I confess I was nervous because it was my first yoga retreat but it couldn't have been better. I really felt at home. I was blessed to have met such wonderful people. Each one that shared the weekend with me had something very special to offer. Blue Mountain (Catskill Mountains) is beautiful, cozy, comfortable, intimate and peaceful. The food was delicious. Kirra was so great conducting all of the practices and also the "self-compassion" exercises. One week after our retreat I had to urgently fly to Brazil and unfortunately lost my dad two months later. I am so glad I could take a moment for myself before the wave hit me. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Its amazing how I have been processing everything that happened and this is one of the reasons I really want to work with Sohum in the future. You have inspired me. Truly a magical weekend!

I loved everything about the retreat. I loved that it was at a large manor that had plenty of room, yet still felt cozy. I loved that the yoga practice was in the former horse barn, heated and protected from the elements, yet getting us as close to nature as possible! I loved that the food was all vegan and varied and incredibly delicious. We had many deep group discussions, initiated and guided by Kirra, who is also the yoga instructor. They were extremely insightful and cleansing, and I felt like a shared wisdom came out of the conversations. We were given journals to reflect and work through the emotions we were experiencing, and to help practice gratitude. We also did a very powerful exercise in self-forgiveness. It was a moment of significant growth for me personally and, I felt, for many others in the group. I can't express my gratitude to Vanessa and Kirra enough for such an awesome experience. It was one of the highlights of my year, and I'm looking forward to the next one!

I truly had an amazing time photographing your retreat! Clearly, you both put a ton of preparation into the weekend and it really reflected in the planning. From the informative workshop with Conny to the amazing yoga setup in the barn, to the delicious vegan food and the heart opening talks! It was all perfect. Vanessa, your house, family and friends were amazing which brought a cozy home feeling and great energy to the retreat. It made for a perfect balance with Kirras’ yogis. I’m sure with different destinations, things will change, but the time spent at Blue Mountain was magical. Can’t wait for the next one! Thank you for the opportunity to capture the weekend and experience the first chapter of your wellness retreats.

I was fortunate to be at the Yoga retreat at Blue Mountain Manor this past winter. It was one of the most beautiful locations I have ever been to. The house we lived in was spotless and so very comfortable. Big couches, roaring fireplace, large kitchen and dining area, large suites with comfortable beds and private bathrooms. The food that was served was plentiful, delicious and very healthy. The classes were held in the barn that was beautifully set up. The teacher was amazing and patient as I am not the best yoga student. I didn’t feel intimidated at all. What I liked the best were the talks that Vanessa set up to discuss things that you wouldn’t talk about with strangers, but yet you were in such a comfortable setting that we all spoke like we had known each other forever and then let it go!! It was so relaxing and freeing. I can’t wait to go again and bring my husband next time.
